The executive committee of Old Dalians’ Association, encouraged by the tree plantation drive of the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) and the Daly College, decided participate in the noble cause. On Saturday, 4th July 2009, the O.D.A. planted more than 100 trees around the new lake under construction, near the Auditorium at the school. Mr. C.B. Singh, Commissioner, IMC was the chief guest for the function. The first tree planted by the chief guest was an ALSTONIA SCHOLORASIS. It is said that anyone studying under this tree understands, learns, and memorizes better!
At the function, Principal Ku Sumer Singhji enlightened us on the water harvesting and tree plantation projects in the school.
Senior ODs – Sh. N.S Bidwal, Sh. Narayan Singh, Sh. D.P. Jhabua , Sh.Dilip Kasliwal, Sh. Rameshwar P. Singh – along with many other ODs were present during the tree plantation drive to show ODA’s full commitment & support for a greener world.
Different varieties of trees were planted by the Old Dalians, which included trees that attract different types of birds, butterflies, insects, and even migratory birds.The committee members – Girin Somaiya, Preeti Kela, Ashish Modi, Devraj Singh, Kripal Singh, Rochak Parekh, Anirudh Kasliwal, and Ankit Mittal – along with other Old Dalians, participated with great enthusiasm.
